AutoCad doesn’t launch fully maximised when first launched.

AutoCAD doesn’t open fully maximised when first launched. Every time I have to minimise it and maximise it again for it to fully maximise.

it first launches as if it’s maximised but with a 0.5 mm gap on the very right. Leading to me mistakenly closing tabs behind it instead of closing the current AutoCad existing tab.

this issue only happens with AutoCad, doesn’t happen with any other app, even Autodesk apps.

Make sure you have the latest AutoCAD updates installed.

Thanks for your reply.
I have had this issue since AutoCad 2024.

updated to 25 then 26. still same issue.
had an open case with technical support team for over a year now. They asked me for logs and promised to fix soon but unfortunately didn’t till now. Finally they asked me to write here on forums.

Since I can’t replicate your issue either this makes it difficult to troubleshoot.

What Windows OS are you running?

Try the following;
-If you have multiple monitors connected try with only having one

-Try launching AutoCAD in safemode so there are no add ins that may be interfering

-Create a new Windows account with local admin rights then login to Windows using that new account and launch AutoCAD

-Disable all windows startup apps then launch AutoCAD

@khaledkamel123 Test with a new WindowOS login, see if the issue goes away: it's a unique problem that plagues some users but does not others, reports over the years suggest how you close the program may be of influence, others say they found a registry edit, others have never seen it and don't know about it.

You are welcome to explore the dozens of theories and fixes over the years, I'll get you started here

I’ve tried making a totally new account, on another laptop and installing a new clean autocad latest version, with windows 11 version (thought maybe the issue is with windows 11), over there. Still same issue…

Issue on on Windows 11 on Lenovo Legion Pro 5 & Windows 10 on Dell G15.

I’ve already reinstalled the windows (upgrade in place) multiple times…

Even tested with an older windows on a new laptop with another account. Same issue…

Also I’ve tried all the methods of closing the app on different states, also tried the maximise preference through properties then shortcut tab, still same issue.

There must be some kind of application that's running in the background on both your Windows 10 & 11 OS especially when the same problem occurs on multiple computers and in multiple versions of AutoCAD.

I tried resetting windows and just download AutoCAD, issue persists.

Long shot here but on those computers running Windows 11 try disabling Snap Layouts:
