Hi All

I am sure this is a very basic question but I wouldn't even know what to search for to try and get an understanding of how to achieve what I am after... In the past I have struggled through manually moving the model space around in the paper space, printing and repeating so that I can print off drawings larger than I am able to in 1 go... to 1:1 scale which I can physically join together and lay out.

Is there a way I can ask the program to automatically generate say the 8 A4 sheets required for an A1 sized drawing so that they can be printed on an A4 printer?

Good question: AutoCAD does not do that in any automatic way whatsoever, never has. You'll want to print your A1 sheet to PDF, then use a PDF Viewer/Editor that has the ability to split up your 1-sheet into 8-sheets.

If you only have and need to use AutoCAD, it appears you are aware of that manual process of creating what you need.

HTH
