wrong file name open

when i open AutoCAD file name as HELLO, its opening with as DRAWING 1, how to solve this?

Hi,

sounds you are not open a drawing file, it sounds you doubleclick a drawingTEMPLATEfile

Fileextension .dwg vs. .dwT

.DWT are to create NEW .DWG files, usually used by command NEW or QNEW setting.

If you need to edit a drawing template (.dwt), use command OPEN to edit the content.

If you want to save a Drawing file, use SAVEAS -> Filetype AutoCAD 2018 DWG

Hi, when i open .DWT its opening as Drawing 1, 2,3 etc. when i open .DWG its is opened correctly. how to solve this ?

How often do you think you have to edit drawing templates ???

This is a feature, not a bug 😉

Use AutoCAD, as I said: Command OPEN

I am asking, when i open .DWT File it should open as .DWT File name right . example my .DWT File name as : APPLEJUICE.DWT if i open this file it should be APPLEJUICE right but it is coming as DRAWING1 , WHY SO ?

No, because you don't open a .dwt file this way, you start a new, unsaved drawing file.

Yes and this happens! The command to open a file, is command OPEN and it will open the APPLEJUICE.DWT

So I guess, you dont use command open ..

Guessing

Because you don't open the file, instead to start a windows OS action (doubleclick from another program like Explorer ?)

.DWT files are DraWingTemplates to create new drawing files - and AutoDESK programs are designed to start a new file based on them.

You need to start to READ the whole answer, otherwise I can repat it 12x without any success

Not an option with AutoCAD. Sorry.

You can rename the extension to be DWG to do what you want, then save back, if the concept of the name not matching does not work for your needs.

Or change software to one that offers that ability: I'm not sure which that would be however.
