topic Layer State File (.las) syntax Question in AutoCAD Forum

I am trying to understand the Layer State File Syntax in the .las file and I found the attached helpful information on the net.

As you can see the code 90 represents the layer state (e.g. on/off/frozen/locked/no plot) and the number ranges from 0 to 15.

Everything was fine until I started to see some numbers higher than 15 (e.g. 24, 35, 43, etc) when I exported a layer state from one dwg file.

Is there some additional documentation which explains how to retrieve the basic layer state (i.e. on/off, freeze/thaw, locked, no plot) information from these number higher than 15 ? I am thinking that it has to do with the bit pattern of the number. Certainly, Autodesk staff must know so please help !

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Andrew,

The 90 code numbers consistently being returned and over 15 are mainly four: 16,24,35 and 43

If this is not documented anywhere can some one (hopefully Autodesk ?) tell me what each of these number represent in terms of on/off, freeze/thaw, locked, no plot ???... Thanks.
