Whether there is a mask or not it's a great tool to "fix" mtext boxes that have been manually moved around: the mask feature just happens to follow the ruler settings.<BR /><BR />In 2012, I cannot replicate your double-arrow-shrinking effect while testing a dozen mtexts in a file I have open.
