Jim, here's the Target Path I had to create for the icon to launch plain AutoCAD;

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015\acad.exe" /p <<VANILLA>> /product ACADM /language "en-US"

I see now that the /product switch is calling Acad Mech. but the /p (profile) switch is setting the profile to Vanilla which is generic Acad.

I don't know where your AutoCAD 2015 - English - AutoCAD Electrical icon came from - I recall something about a generic AutoCAD 2015 - English icon was never installed and I had to create one from scratch.

Granted, if you do not need a modify-able Target Path, you could simply create from from the Start menu. Due to we modify the Target path, I had to dig down to the acad.exe file and create a desktop shortcut from there.

OT - Something tells me this might jog Dean's mind - we went around about this sometime ago and never settled on what's different between our systems and why a generic Acad icon is or isn't created. We both had different results lol

Wait a min, I'm providing Win7 stuff there - this probably doesn't affect Win8 maybe, at least all the details concerning how to manually create a AutoCAD desktop shortcut.

Do you recall where your icon came from? The one that apparently starts plain Acad but the tooltip states it's Acad Elec...
