topic Re: Dimension Line extends past extension lines in AutoCAD Forum

Those "extensions" are halfway part of the Block, like the length of arrowheads plus the tails on them when they actually are arrowheads [adding another arrow size amount], when they point inward from outside the extension lines, and they are determined by a combination of the arrow size in the Dimension Style definition and the Dimension Scale setting. If you don't want them at all, you can use a Block definition without that Line, but then when the arrowheads are inside the extension lines, you will have a gap of the arrowhead size between the extension line / tick and the end of the dimension line. You could reduce the size of the extensions by making the diagonal tick mark part larger in relation to the one-unit-long Line part in the Block definition, and using a smaller arrow size in the Dimension Style definition.
