Flexnet License Finder

Hello,

We recently had to switch motherboards on our Dell 2950, and now our license finder isn't working. We have 3 lisences for AutoCAD 2009. I think it might need to have a new hostid number entered somewhere? Where would I do that? or do I need to have Autodesk send us something?

Since your mobo changed, your MAC address changed.

Thank you. Is it not possible to use the LMTOOLS to change the MAC adddress?

No, not within LMTOOLS. You have to do it thru the advanced properties of your NIC.

ok. Another dumb question. Is the (old) MAC address the one listed under LMTOOLS, System Settings, Ethernet Address? After I update the "Locally Administered Address", do I reboot the server?

Your old MAC address will be listed in your license file. Just use that in
your NIC settings and reboot. You can then verify with LMTOOLS that the
Ethernet address matches what it should be. You should be good to go at
that point.

No, they are the same. If I shell out and IPCONFIG /ALL, the MAC address is the same number as what's in LMTOOLS. I think I'm going to have to contact Autodesk, and just re-license the product. If I can find the disks with our Serial number.

You're not understanding. LMTOOLS only shows what your ethernet address
is. So of course it's gonna match your IPCONFIG. You need to change the
NIC back to what is listed on the top line of your license file then
reboot. Then LMTOOLS will show the old correct one.

Ok. IS that the ACD2009enlicense.lic file? Just open with notepad?

Thank you for your patience. I think that worked. The guys at the plant have already gone home, but It worked on my workstation, so they should be able to start it when they come in tomorrow morning. Thank you again.
