I understand completely. your fingers have muscle memory and they are use to working that way and want to continue. Logitech has a great customization driver, of course I can't remember the name of it right now. Go to their website you might be able to find it.

This weekend I started using 3Dconnexion's brand new CadMouse. It has three "click" button, of which, the middle click button acts like clicking the scroll wheel. That might be the mouse for you. Visit their site and check it out.

Hello All,

I am a long time autoCAD user. Since 2002...

I was using microstation for about 1.5years at a firm I was working for, and have recently switched back to AutoCAD.

I customized the mouse buttons so that the when I clicked and held down both the LEFT, and RIGHT mouse buttons I would PAN the model space.

I can't seem to figure out how to customize this in AutoCAD, it was rather simple in microstation.

How can I change the PAN command from my scroll clicker, to a LEFT and RIGHT click combination button?

I'm using a Logitech M705.

Perhaps this is the problem.

Solutions are appreciated!

You don't in AutoCAD: your mouse driver must offer options for you to do what you wish. Most don't.

So which mouse and which driver is in use on your PC?

You can pan by holding the intelliwheel down, no need to customize.

AutoCAD won't let you click two mouse buttons at the same time. You can click, shift+click, CTRL+Click, and CTRL+SHIFT+Click.

If you open the CUI (type CUI on the command line) go to the Customize tab and scroll down to the Mouse Buttons options, you can customize your clicks there.

thanks for the reply, cadablog.

That make sense, but also unfortunate. Having the ability to keep both the index and middle fingers on the click buttoms without having to remove them to pan was super comfortable.

If I'm able to set this up through my mouse configuration I will post an update!

To pan with your left mouse button, just hit "p" & enter, and use the left mouse button..
