On Autocad 2015, in SE Isometric, when trying to fillet between two lines near the apex of an equilateral triangle (60:60:60 deg) lying with base along the x-axis and apex lying along the -Y axis, OSNAPZ=0, Autocad command line reports, "not a valid object type" when either line is selected. I note the same procedure produces a fillet in Austocad 2012. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for replying so promptly Alfred.

Please find uploaded the file containing the triangle. It is to the right of the cylindrical solid. Due to the size of the solid in relation to the triangle, magnification of the triangle is necessary (x28). My Autocad 2015 software reports that it is up to date with SP2 as of 09 March 2015.

The triangle sides are showing they are lines. The fillet function I am using is from the 3D Tools menu.

Thanks for your help Alfred. Very much appreciated.

Hi,

no problem to run fillet with that 3 lines, look to the video, that's what I'm doing and how AutoCAD reacts.

Brings me to the idea (as you get something like 'not valid object type') ... did you try option "Polyline" within command _FILLET?

If so, the message would be different and the option is to be used for Polylines only, not for Line-objects.

Are you doing exactly the same like I do in the video?

Thanks Alfred,

I was using the wrong fillet tool. I was using the one for the surface. The comand -fillet is also found under the Modify menu. That works for me and thank you for the great tutorial video!
