Help creating contour and boundary from dwg file from GIS software

Hello,

I have trial versions of Auto Cad 2023 and Auto Cad 2023 3D. I am trying to make a contour map. For days, I have read numerous how-to articles in the Autodesk community on the web. But I can't find Prospector or Toolspace. I am pretty sure I have the points imported, though some aren't showing their descriptions and I exploded the block.

If someone can look at what I have done and tell me the steps to finish this project I would greatly appreciate your effort.

What is "...Auto Cad 2023 3D" please? Do you mean the separate software called Civil3D? Or Map3D?
or do you mean something else?

Hi @smorrismath

You're using plain vanilla AutoCAD.

Toolspace and the Prospector tab are in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Civil 3D trial versions and Student versions can be found >>HERE.<<

Hi Sharon,
Where is "6 15 23 2570 athens hwy 129 points.txt"? Can you post that file?
Your drawing is assigned GAHP-WF coordinate system, but the linework is helengone to the west of the extents of that coordinate system.

EPSG 2239

You can try downloading elevation data HERE.

Then do like this:

Then Unzip File=>MapImport=>Create Object Data=>'Raise' contours based on OD Elev <<OK to raise manually w/o query>>

Next, Toolspace=>Create EG=>Definition=>Select the imported Contours=>Add Boundary.

Optional:

Surface=>Contextual Ribbon=>Surface Tools=>Extract from Surface=>Extract Objects=>Major & Minor contours

AutoCad Map 3D I am so sorry. Still learning from the two trial softwares,
obviously, I have a lot to learn

Thanks I have downloaded the shape file in AutoCad Map 3D, but I still can't get Toolspace - when I type the command I get the same error, not found.

Also, my 87-year-old Dad is in hospital, I am leaving to go check on him, I will work on this again tonight or early tomorrow. Thank you again for your help.
