How do I create a pss file for plot stamp?

Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to create a new .pss file for my plot stamp (because when I hit Plot Stamp in the command bar everything is all greyed out and I am unable to edit the existing) for a few hours and can not find anything online. Any help would be much appreciated!

Also the automated text for field is not working either. Using that would be ideal, however when I chose Plot time & Date (the only thing I need) no text shows up, only a dashed line. Any help on that matter would be greatly appreciated as well!

Can you share with us screenshots of all the items you describe as greyed out and not text etc.?
we'd like to understand what you are looking at, where that is etc.

A screenshot of your ABOUT command pop-up would be great too please.

perhaps the location of your pss files are in read-only folder:

O and to find the folder location your .pss files at the AutoCAD command prompt enter the following:

(findfile"inches.pss")

or:

(findfile"mm.pss")

AutoCAD 2015 in what looks like Windows10Pro: by chance did this problem show up due to an update in Windows10?

Or did this file get deleted from your Windows10 login's DESKTOP (and if I may ask, why is it saved to your desktop?) Did you move it there? Or did you just create this PSS? Or did someone share it with you?

May I ask why you chose PLOTDATE? That's going to remain empty until you PLOT I believe.

Someone did share it with me, that is why it's on my desktop. I'm not sure about the other. I haven't used it for a few months and just needed it now, and realized it's completely messed up and I can't fix it. That's why I was wondering how I could create a new one and attach the new pss file instead of what is attached.

@andreaMU3FF At the commandline, type this exactly as shown then hit <enter>

(findfile"inches.pss")

or if you use metric units:

(findfile"mm.pss")

The folder that is buried under your login user folders has the stock PSS files from Autodesk: make a copy, name it whatever you want, them direct PLOTSTAMP command to look for it and use that instead

Log off and sign into windows as a different user and see if this problem goes away

Thank you for your help, but I think the original .pss file that came with my autocad has been deleted somehow. Autocad can not locate it. When in the location to find the file:

Am I just screwed? Or is there a way to create a new .pss file? If so, how would I go about doing that?

The only thing I have been able to find on google is to use automated texts, however those are not working for me either and would prefer a regular plot stamp. Thanks so much!

That just means your login does not allow you to search for hidden folders, that's an I.T. problem, nothing more.

If you cannot unhide in File Explorer to get to that folder, you'll need to ask your favorite IT person to help you unlock access, not much we can do about that here for you

That’s why if you try my solution logging into Windows as a different user AutoCAD will give you a pss file for that user and then you can copy that pss file for your login

I only have 1 autocad, with no other users. I bought the program in 2015 and do not want/or need a newer version so I do not have to pay the yearly fee. I don't think your solution will be an option for me.

You are misunderstanding what I’m stating. You can sign into your Windows operating system with any valid user assigned by yourself on your computer or given to you by your IT staff. This has nothing to do with your AutoCAD license. Once you’ve logged onto Windows as a user then when you launch AutoCAD that’s when you’re prompted to sign in with either your AutoCAD serial number for perpetual licenses or your Autodesk account for subscription to activate online. If you are confused by how this process works it’s best you contact your IT department or whoever initially setup your computer with AutoCAD to go over this process
