topic Annotative Dimension's Distance from Object (Autocad 2015) in AutoCAD Forum

Is there a way to program the annotative dimension style to automatically change the distance from the object that is being dimensioned when changing the drafting scale? For example, if we dimension our drawing at 1:10, the dimensions are automatically located a set distance from the walls. However, if we decide to change the scale, as the text gets bigger, it does not automatically scale the distance to the wall, and eventually the text ends up overlapping the wall. We would like to set it up so that the dimension text will automatically "move" farther from the wall as the text size becomes bigger. I included two jpg's showing a 1:10 scale and a 1:40 scale to exagerate the problem for clarity.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

*Using AutoCAD 2015
