Hello Gentlemen,

I'd ask your help. I try to loft two polylies along a "curve".

The polylines are closed and lofting works on them, but only without the guide line.

I tried to use the line as a "path" and also as a guide, but in these cases the loft does not work.

Do you have any idea, why?

(I also tried the PLANESURF, but also does not work).

Thank you in advance for your kind help!

Info for the attached picture:

-1 is the 2 cross selections (white) and the guide (red)

-2 is a bigger image of the top of the guide, I think the problem is that is curved

-3 other view of the objects.

Hi,

using _LOFT, selecting the black Polylines as cross-sections and the red poly as guide results in this message:

The guide is not G1 between first and last sections.

So using this guide has a tangent touch which can not be used to create a 3D-Surface or Solid.

With other words: try to draw a cross-section very close the red polyline's arc end, how should that look like ... if you can construct that you can use that as third cross-section and maybe solved the job.

mokush

all I did is as Alfred suggested. What I did may be wrong in that the sections are not the right shape to give the results you need. use 3dorbit and look all over the surface at different angles and light reflections and you will see the surface is not as smooth and neat as you may need. Suggest you redraw from scratch and place your sections between two or four paths so the result is exactly what you want & dimensionally correct.

dave

Hello,

I also did what he suggested. Started the drawing again, with more (9) cross selections.

The result is what I wanted 🙂

Now I can start working on this part.
