topic hatching problem with xref in AutoCAD Forum

Hello all;

I am working in Autocad 2015 and a couple of users that are having problems with hatching areas in a drawing that is xref.

First, I had to dwg convert the file from Autocad Architecture 2010 down to Autocad with AEC objects exploded, so all the walls, doors, & windows are lines. The version used in Architecture was a preliminary & now after a few weeks has changed since converted.

What is happening is that a floor plan is xref into a another drawing, and then when trying to hatch a wall of the xref (lines that make it up) an error message says that the boundary is not closed besides a few other options. I go to the xref file & fillet each segment of linework to make sure that the "wall" is closed. They do not like using polylines.

I'm not sure what to do, I checked the hatch gap, but that doesn't seem to work. Also, zooming out doesn't work. No luck with larger hatch scale or solid. Everybody is blaming me, since these files were created under Architecture, and not happy that they have to make boundaries for each wall segments, which there are a lot of.

Suggestion?

Thanks in advance
