How to set default paper size for plotter

Hello!

I created a new paper size Arch D Landscape to print a 36"x24" sheet to print in landscape view. Right now I am having to select the paper size every time I print. What is the easiest way to set a default paper size to where it will save the Arch D Landscape paper size and keep it every time I print.

At least within a given drawing, next time you Plot it, get it set as you want, and pick this:

I read the article, but it does not tell me how to make the plotter automatically default to my Arch D Landscape paper size. I would think this is a easy solution. It is a common problem, and should not be complicated.

@gregLNS5D basic AutoCAD knowledge you might as well get used to right away: PLOT settings are unique to and only saved in each tab in each DWG file. There is no universal "I want this to be my default all the time anytime I plot from any file anywhere in autocad" settings. This old program has never worked like that, still does not.

You can however automate your choices using LISP or button macros in the interface, or if you only want to use the built-in tools you'll have to create a master template file with presets and named pagesetups that you import and use all the time with PSETUPIN command.

How would you like to proceed from here? Lots of folks in this forum can help you navigate these limited options.

The is no function like that.

Acad choose the Pagesize related to the previous selected pagesize (Acad tries to choose the pagesesize of your new selected printer which is near to the same size)

Use templates (for new new drawings or new Layouts),

or create a Menumacro to setup the current pagesetup.

OK. This may be an oversimplification and granted I am a novice in Autocad when it comes to setting up printers. I see that every time I open the plot it defaults to paper. Therefore in my mind there is a default. Why cant I just change the default from paper to Arch D Landscape.

Once more, that depends on which DWG it is you are opening and whom set it up to do that in the first place (same exact rules still apply, either you set it up or Autodesk set it up). "support" is not going to do anymore that what everyone here is asking you to explore and investigate 🙂

@gregLNS5D This is ''Autocad Technical Support'' right here dude. You've been told how to create a page setup in like 7 different ways by mulitple Highly Qualified Indiviuals and you still don't get it...
