Rotate Blocks easier

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if AutoCAD can rotate blocks at 90° increments upon insert? I am looking for the way that Revit addresses this where the 'Tab' key rotates blocks at 90° before insertion but AutoCAD equivalent.

If you are adding blocks from INSERT you can tick to add a rotation prompt and set ortho on with F8.

Was wondering if there was something easier than this. I use a lot of ACAD blocks in my work and I was looking for a 'one button' rotation at 90° increments. Revit deals with this feature very well by using the 'tab' key. Thought AutoCAD had the same feature.

There is a new auto placement feature in Autocad 2024, I don't know if it could help. But it should be designed for a similar target group.

Another option is to create simple keyboard shortcuts to rotate an object while you're in the INSERT command. Eg

CRTL+ALT+A (left)

_r;90;

CRTL+ALT+S (upside down)

_r;180;

CRTL+ALT+D (right)

_r;270;

In AutoCAD it's 1 click to specify the x,y and then mouse hover and click to accept rotation angle. This is the same steps as in Revit, the only difference being specifying the rotation angle with spacebar instead of mouse hover position.
