Redo command is "grayed out" and doesn't work at all

I am working with AutoCad 2013 and for some reason the redo command does not work. "undo" works fine, but there is no way to "redo". The icon is there on the toolbar, but it is grayed out at all times.

Are you trying to REDO immediately after doing the UNDO?

When grayed out there is nothing to REDO: can you explain in more detail how we can reproduce your issue if you believe otherwise?
And R2013 is not new, so is this a new problem? did something change?

Yes. I've been using other versions of autocad for many years, but this version for some reason does not allow me to "redo". The icon is there, but is always grayed out.....

I've used many other versions of autocad through the years, but this is the first time ive worked for a company using 2013.
There ARE things to redo, but the icon remains gray.

Doesn't matter if you started today or been doing it for 20-years, it doesn't happen here but it happens to you. So how do I replicate exactly your issue in 2013 on my PC? Walk me through your steps, confirm them on your end first, then describe each step here for me to replicate in 2013 on my PC.

Again, are you doing anything else after conducting an UNDO? If you do, then the REDO will not be available.

There's nothing really to walk you through... I'm probably not explaining myself well, but the redo command just does not work when it is supposed to.

If I draw a line, and then hit undo (and the line disapears as it should), shouldn't I at that point be able to hit "redo" as long as I do it right after the "undo"?

I know that 2013 isnt new.... But it is the first time I have used this version.

Reset to default or reinstall it, looks like you're out of options.

Your example REDO works fine R2012 through 2016.

So did you get a new PC, or just get 2013 and perhaps 'migrate' from an older version or install and run an add-on?

Nothing is custom at the moment... Just the standard redo command. Keyboard command for redo doesn't work either.

Talk with your local IT support, it seems there is customization being involved.

Try another PC, then go talk to your CAD Manager/IT person if yours is the only problematic setup.

the other work stations are the same. will not redo....

Go into the CUI and find the command REDO. Make sure it is available and has a macro associated.

I actually have two:

REDO macro is ^C^C_redo

and the other

MREDO is ^C^C_mredo 1 .
