so when I rotate my screen to line up my view i use the twist screen command, then i set my ucs to view and it rotates my x,y icon. but when i turn on ortho mode it is still set to the previous usc plane... how do i switch that to my new view too?

no, i actually use carlson software with intellicad, (which is very similar to autocad) to create 3d surface models and then convert them to topcon 3d office for gps machine grade control. and I use civil 3d for designs. but im having this trouble while useing intellicad, which has a twist screen command. ucs is just confusing to me.

Wouldn't you want to post this to an Intellicad forum?

Sketch what you need to be done and attach the picture here I'm sure it can be done with autocad.

(It's the terminology of the commands is different and you kinda lost me)

Image 1 is the cad file i recieved from the engineer, north is up. Image 2 is after i switched the ucs to a line on the pad. I want to rotate my screen so the pad is in line with my landscape paper. i can "twist screen" to do this but then my text still wants to be the same orientation as my old view. so i undid my twist screen and changed my ucs to a line that is on the axis i want; well now everything i draw just goes way out in the middle of nowhere instead of where i clicked it.

This is how to do it:

I listed the yellow line and the popup shows.

Type in: UCSFOLLOW use 1

then type in UCS, Z, then key in the rotation of the listed yellow line : 26d29'53"

then hit Enter

When you want to get back to world UCS, type in UCS enter, W enter.
