Hello everyone. Is there a way to dimension a segmented line along the bend of the line? I have a line that is 35' in one direction, and then 10' in another direction (approximately a 20 degree angle between them) and I want to beable to label this line as 45'. I know that I can just simply use the regular dimension tool and label it as 45', but I want the dimension text to run along the length of the line instead of just going between the two end points, because I feel this is misleading. Thanks!

Use field

When you stretch the polyline it will update.

Not with a Dimension per se. If it's a Polyline [not two Lines], you may be able to get a start with something from >here<. But I like the Field idea.

Not sure I have ever used "field." Could you explain a little more of what that is? In your example file, it looks like just an MText that doesn't auto-update and doesn't have leaders that show what is actually getting dimensioned, which is what I am trying to avoid.
