You used to be able to, look for the cog symbol in the bottom right corner. But my 2016 version does not have it, AutoDesk are phasing out the classic look with each version.

Because of that I strongly recommend you become familiar with the new workspace! You will need to use AutoCAD with the new layout one day soon, best get used to it in class.

Dear community,

for the purposes of a course I use autoCAD 2014 for MAC. But, in class we are working on autoCAD 2008 and so I have troubles getting used to the programm. Is there any way to get the classic workspace( reffering to the one of autoCAD 2008 ) to work on my computer. Note that a detailed description will be twice helpfull.

Thank you in advance,

giannisl9

It seems there is no cog symbol either.

Anyway, as explained, in class we work on autoCAD 2008 and so we will do in our exams. Thats why I want to get the classic workspace !

You could try RIBBONCLOSE, then MENUBAR > 1

But I am not sure as I don't use MAC

There is NO Ribbon and no Classic Workspace on the MAC version: if you need it, you need to be using the Windows version of AutoCAD. That's it. No workaround.

You can run Windows on a MAC as you know and you are allowed to use the same serial number you have for 2014 MAC to Authorize the Windows version.

BTW, you missed this thread at the top of the forum before you posted in this forum http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2013-2014-2015-2016/the-autocad-for-mac-forum-has-moved/td-p/4708083/jump-to/first-unread-message
