I tried entering the 64 hexadecimal Activation code that came with the program, but once I filled the sixteen boxes with the 64 symbols, a seventeenth box populated the window! With nothing to put in it, I was left scratching my head.

Today I had success! I reinstalled the program into my old computer. I then ran PLU as an administrator on both my old and new computers to get both MICs, exported the license to the new computer via thumb drive and imported it. Seems to be running fine.

Thank you for all your help!

Can you describe what that means in detail? Can't be installed, does not start, crashes during start, gives any messages, ...

And let us know your system specifications like operating system, hardware, ... as well as which program do you want to transfer (product and version)

Hi,

>> Trying to install AutoCAD Lt 2007 on a new Dell Optiplex running Windows 10 Home.

You are trying to run an 8 year old software on an operating system which was released a few weeks ago. I guess you'll have to be prepared to get more troubles than just this.

What you can try now is to right-click the icon for this application ==> properties and activate the compatibility mode (e.g. to Windows XP) for this and to activate the "run as administrator" checkbox too. Hopefull this makes the program startable.

Good luck, - alfred -

Thank you, I will give that a try. Unfortunately, I had the program running fine on another Windows 10 computer and the AutoDesk tech had me uninstall it from that machine, so I dont know how to make the PLU function for exporting the license. The Autodesk people seem to have written my case off, since they will no longer answer my emails.

We really had no trouble running the ACAD LT 2007 on the other WIndows 10 computer, except that the computer was just a bit old and had other issues.

Hi,

what happens if you install AutoCAD on the new workstation and try to simply activate it like it's a new installation/activation?

>> The Autodesk people seem to have written my case off,

Make the new installation and send them the info you need a new code as the license was deactivated on the old workstation and so you can't run the license transfer. As long as you have the right to use this serial/license they will give you the activation code.
