Status Bar Resets With Each Reload

RE: AutoCAD Architecture 2016

I turn off Status Bar features which I don't require - I prefer a VERY minimalist set of buttons and toolbars.

But each time I restart it reverts to turning most (not all) back on. Display Configuration, Cut Plane Icon, Cut Plane Text, Replace Z Value, and Elevation ALL return at each restart.

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks for any input - Greg

Are you actively saving your workspace after making these changes?
What about your ACA profile?
Is your ACA startup loading an external Profile file? Is it doing more as well, like reloading a master company CUI file?

Yes, actively saving changes.

Only one profile remains.

Saving Workspace changes.

No additional customization files are being loaded.

I will double check on the installation at home this weekend to see if that install does it as well, this configuration was migrated from the 2014 version upon upgrade.

Still a curse in 2023 version of Civil 3D. Many complains over the years but so far nobody at AutoCAD cares.

Complaining to an inanimate software package tends to not yield many results I'm sure: the company name is Autodesk, perhaps they might listen if 1000s of us focus on the same message and share them here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Case 20292072 - Civil 3D Status Bar bug
It seems to be an issue with both Architecture & Civil and I will continue to add replies everywhere this bug that's been around for at least 8 years is posted until it's fixed.

@TomBeauford Are we sure this is a "bug" to fix? Looks like an Autodesk "...we want you to always have these on because we decided to do it without asking anyone..." situation to me, I run ARCH2023 lean except I can never have these turned off for example no matter what I do

Find out for sure, experiment and test thoroughly, dig way deep, I bet that's the case for many of us in these verticals.

For the support case she first wanted to get a video of it happening on my PC but after explaining it comes back every time Civil 3D reopens because they're the only items not saved in the Windows Registry and including an image of the Registry where they need to be added she was able to replicate it and is forwarding it to hopefully get fixed soon. Her comments below:

No worries, I was able to capture it happening (to me) for a recording. I appreciate you compiling all the supporting documentation, and I am going to escalate this to our Development Team and include all the links.

That being said, here are the most effective ways to get this prioritized by our Development Team:

1. Submit this to our Civil 3D ideas page and have everyone you know vote for it: Civil 3D Ideas - Autodesk Community The top ideas from this page are used to inform what is prioritized in new releases of Civil 3D. The forums are great, but they aren't necessarily reviewed by development, while the ideas page is reviewed and absolutely makes a huge difference.

2. Respond to our Product feedback page. This is also reviewed by people who make the decisions about product development.

In the meantime, I will be escalating this to Development, and as soon as I have a ticket number from them, I will share it with you. You will be able to use this to follow up. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will update you ASAP.
