Isometric ellipse won't trim/extend?

Ellipses from a flatshot have dynamic grips, ellipses created in 2D iso do not, but as soon as I trim the 2D

ellipse, it gets dynamic grips and I cannot trim the way I want mid-arc...in other words, the only thing I can trim on the flatshot arc are the ends. And even doing it this way, I have to pick right at the end of the arc. When trimming a line that extends 10" beyond an edge, I can pick anywhere along that 10" and it will trim, this doesn't work with the flatshot/modified 2D ellipses. It reacts the same way in Acad 2010 and 2016.

Just tried both ways and mine trims fine. I trimmed several chucks away on separate command cycles and extended as well. Works OK.
Maybe post that drawing and I can give it a look?

Oh yeah... I'm on ACAD 2016

Flatshot sometimes duplicates edges. Try picking twice or use overkill on the results before assuming it doesn't work.
