How can I export 32x32 icon images from 2016?

CUI has check box for 16x16 or 32x32 but only 16x16 actually exports, even if 32x32 is selected.

You answered your own question sadly.
You'll need to find other means, like a screen capture tool free with Windows.

Interesting,because CUI seems to point to a 16 x 16 and 32 x 32 files, but exports are always 16 x 16. Guess I'll just have to go with scereen captures.

Thank you for posting your question here in the community. While this isn't an option currently, I agree this would be a great feature to add to AutoCAD. The best place to provide that feedback is directly to the product team via the Product Feedback Form.

You might be able to use the Image Manager within the CUI Editor to accomplish what you need, if the image files already exist at the larger size:

Hi!

Thanks for the reply, but as far as I can tell Image Manager only imports images, presumably for use in custiom menus. I need to export them for use in a book I'm updating for 2017; you may have heard of "AutoCAD for Dummies."

Options / Use large buttons for Toolbars

has to be ticked ON to export 32x32 icons from the CUI.

The CUIx file is simply a ZIP file containing a few XML files and most importantly the images! Simply make a copy of the CUIx file, change the extension to .ZIP, open it and grab the images.

Just customized images, not all default icons.
