Hello,

I am looking for a way to disable the AEC object error. I have drawings that were worked on in 2015, then saved down to 2010. I am batch processing these drawings in 2010, and the graphics that are related to the AEC errors are not problematic graphics at all. It is a massive annoyance, and I do not want to delete them. I also cannot sit and hit enter every time the dialog appears while I am processing 6000 drawings overnight.

Can anyone help? The only solutions I have seen online are to explode the objects which is not a solution at all.

Thank you.

Hi,

you can run command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD (or -AECEXPORTTOAUTOCAD) to remove the internal AEC-information from the drawing.

If you want to run that with multiple files you can start _DWGCONVERT and create a conversion setup which explodes the AEC objects.

BTW: when the dialog appears, doesn't that dialog have a checkbox for "do this every time" (...or so?) ?

This explodes those objects so they will become AutoCAD Lines/Arc/Circles/etc. In doing this they will lose their smart properties when brought back into AutoCAD..

That's the reality of AEC objects and saving down to a lower DWG format.

Either explode them, or stop using the higher (or lower) DWG format AutoCAD variant altogether: you decide. There is no other solution.
