Windows in AutoCAD won't maximize

Hi,

We are experiencing an issue where we have multiple windows open within AutoCAD 2015. When we click the square at the top right to maximize a particular window, it doesn't maximize, but just stays as it was.

Does the SYSWINDOWS command work?
Try that as a test.
Do the buttons work after you run that command and arrange the windows?

We are running Windows 7.

Attached is a screen shot. On the front window, when you click maximize, it won't maximize within the main AutoCAD window. It just stays as it is. The user did however find a workaround. If you notice at the top right of the main AutoCAD window in the screen shot, it is maximized. When the user clicks the middle button (Restore Down) and maximizes the window within AutoCAD, it works and the user can then maximize the main AutoCAD window and the smaller window stays maximized. But if they Restore Down the smaller window and then try to maximize it again, the window doesn't maximize.

Also, what do you mean by the SYSWINDOWS command? Do you mean the windows key on the keyboard and then using arrows?

At the AutoCAD command line, type in the command SYSWINDOWS.
Do the options in that command adjust the drawing windows any?

I had the user try this. They said this will only let them cascade, tile horizontally, tile vertically, and arrage icons.

I know those are the only options, but I was curious if they worked or whether the windows were locked down from those commands also.

Is this the only 2015 user with the problem at your office?
What is the add-on the user is using with 2015? 4 blue-ish icons floating in the program title bar.
What if the user closes the file tabs in 2015? FILETABCLOSE command. Seems like they don't have a use for it.

Good catch @pendean -- That looks like an nVidia logo - I bet that's it !

Here is the control for those icons.

I'd disable the nView Desktop Manager completely and test it again to rule this out.

This is the only user that has mentioned this issue to me. I'm not sure if the others have ran into this or tried it.

The add on does appear to be from the nVidia Desktop Manager. They tried the file tab close command but they like using the tabs. They disabled the nVidia settings but the issue still occurs.

Give that user a different Windows user profile and let him test this account on his workstation.

So you can see if it's a software problem on that system or if that is specific to his Windows profile/user settings.

...without new informations about the system, the environment, the installed software, drivers, ...?

As this is the only user who mentions this, it's hard for the rest of the world to imagin what this user has installed or configured.

Thank you for the information, I will try your suggestion.

Yeah I understand people might not have a fix for this without knowing more about the machine. I think I worded my question wrong. I was just trying to see if anyone was still looking at this and had any suggestions on what to troubleshoot next.

Removing the video card and it's driver is another solution.

Try Alfred's suggestion that you glossed over:

"Give that user a different Windows user profile and let him test this account on his workstation.
So you can see if it's a software problem on that system or if that is specific to his Windows profile/user settings."
