I've had a similar experience when importing step files. I just worked around it by importing each object into its own drawing then using the drawing via insertion.

When importing STP files into a new drawing, I get strange results after the first import. The objects which are placed are duplicates of earlier imports, partials of the intended import object, or apparently no imporetd object with the following error:
"Duplicate Definition of Block 1 ignored"

I have tried PURGEing the file, restarting the application, and restarting the computer, nothing helps. I have tried opening a new drawing, import the desired STP object which imports perfectly, and copying it and pasting it back into the working drawing, however, the pasted object again resembles a frankenstein of duplicates and partial pieces of previous undesired imported objects. Opening a new drawing, importing (successfully) an STP object, saving that file with a new name, and INSERTING it into the original drawing still produces the error, so this is not a function of Windows Copyclip, it seems to be a problem with the way working Autocad drawing redefines the new file data based on its current embedded references. Does a block definition cache need to be purged which does not purge when PURGE ALL?

The STP objects are all part of a Uni-Strut parts library, many different parts that possibly share descriptive components, in case that helps.

When we recently purchased our subscription, we were sold on a Premium Telephone support package, but the number to call is not easily found HAHA! Anyone have a link?
Thanks
PMSt

Did you attach the correct *.dwg file here?

I do not see any of the STEP geometry imported into this file?

Here is the file again after several additional import attempts. The tall vertical channel was the result of the import of a clamp part. The multiple block reference objects overlapping each other near the bottom of the vertical channel are the result of imports of different parts, though they look the same as a result of this error. With the files uploaded, I am curious if the error is reproducible. Import the STP into a new drawing, observe the result. Import the STP into the drawing uploaded, compare to previous result. The only workaround so far is to import into a new drawing, explode the Block Reference, and copy the resulting 3DSolid into the drawing which requires it. Thanks for having a look.

This is exact issue has been driving me nuts too. Same catalog of Unistrut parts that will duplicate other parts when importing new STP files. Autodesk hasn't fixed this yet. Thanks for the suggestion to explode the parts. That works but is an aggravating step to have to take.

Did you ever get a work around on this problem? I am having the same issue and I cannot get it to work. I have tried blowing up the blocks in a different drawing and putting them in one by one to no avail.
