New Layer from Standard Option Not Showing Up in Normal CAD?

I have begun using normal AutoCAD to teach a class and I just noticed that I can't create a new layer from a standard (in this case the AIA Standard 3) like I can in AutoCAD Architecture. Is this a feature that normal AutoCAD lacks or is it hidden away somewhere?

Sorry, but your post is vague. Can you upload a screenshot illustrating your issue?

Do you have layer filters? Try displaying all layers, by clicking ALL, like this.

In AutoCAD Architecture, I have the ability to "New Layer from Standard". This opens a dialogue box that allows me to use a predetermined standard, like the AIA Standard 2 (mistyped 3 above), to set your lines by categories.

I can't find that in normal AutoCAD. The interface is missing a few options but this is the one I wanted my students to leverage the most for future projects.

It's this functionality that I'm trying to find in normal AutoCAD. I haven't used CAD in a while so I'm relearning a lot of things I've lost since then.

Hi @mryan64

The AIA Layer Standards are preloaded in Revit. They are not preloaded in plain vanilla Cad. You can create them manually, but I don't think you want to do that!

Yes, this is not in AutoCAD. But does exist in AutoCAD verticals, as you have seen in AutoCAD Arch.
