Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Forums!

In order to help you with this issue I need to know just a bit more.

Is this a new installation? If so, were there any errors when you installed? It sounds like either some files failed to install or the path to them did not get created.

If it is not new, what were you working on before this started happening?

As a quick fix (before you respond to the above) , you can go to Start>All Programs>Autodesk>AutoCAD 2016 - English and select Reset Settings to Default

This will reset things back to before you made any customization to the installation.

Let me know if this helps you.

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

I see many AEC*.* files as part of my AutoCAD installations. The specific command AECSTYLEMANAGER does appear to be a non-AutoCAD command. I am curious how we are initiating the errors and what we are trying to accomplish. Can you shed a little light on this so we verify that there are no problems with your installation?

Sorry, the replies to my post were going to my Junk mailbox. No, I have not found a solution. I work for a mechanical engineer consultant, when we get drawings from our clients or other consultants we convert the drawings to the very basic graphics that we can and basically use their drawings as backgrounds to draw our symbols and graphics on top. Sometimes we get drawings that in order to accomplish this we use the command "export" and from the list of choices I select Autocad 2013. It worked great in version 2015. Is still does in that version. In AC2016 I get the unknown command response. This happens with other commands from the pull dn menu as well!

@Anonymous You are posting on an AutoCAD newsgroup. This newsgroup is for the base version of the program. You are asking about commands that are specific to the AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP verticals, which you should possess (if working as a PME engineer). You must launch the MEP or Architecture profile in order to access those commands. Future posts about these commands should probably go to the AutoCAD Architecture or AutoCAD MEP newsgroup.

2013 is he default file formant for AutoCAD 2016-2015-2014 and 2013. Why do you need to actively select it all the time? That's a setting in OPTIONS command's SAVE tab.

Or are you trying to remove AEC content? In that case, the command in AECTOACAD, type it at the commandline. If that command is missing then you need to reset autoCAD2016 to remove whatever got migrated and mesed up this core feature https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-reset-AutoCAD-to-defaults.html

I understand. But he is asking about commands that are AutoCAD Architecture specific. Only the object enablers might be present in AutoCAD but the commands will all be non-functional. It sounds like the only command he really needs is exporttoautocad if that is available in AutoCAD.
