Does anyone know if there is a solution to regenerate multiple sectionplanes at once?

It is a lot of work/time to regenerate about 15 sectionplanes of a large model

It is not drawing specific. I am looking for a routine to regenerate ALL sectionplanes at once (with one command)

Hi marko.stout,

I apologize for not having a definitive answer for you. Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish? I understand that you have a large and complex model. You are cutting through the model with multiple sectionplanes. From there can you describe the process you are going through?

I suspect that you are adjusting one or more features of the model and then trying to have your sections reflect the updated condition.

If my assumption is incorrect, please let me know. I have good resources on my end even though I have only limited experience personally in working with this process. I hope that I can help you to resolve your problem.

Again, if you have a representative drawing or screenshots that reflect the issue that would be helpful. Thanks for your patience.

John,

I am working in a huge model with solids.

In this model i have several sectionplanes;

5 horizontal level planes

4 facade planes

7 cutting section planes

see screenshot

When i change one or more solids in the model all the sectionplanes need to update.

The action is as follows;

select a sectionplane

rightclick and select "Generate section" and then "2D/3D block"

In the new window select "create"

then wait a little time to finish the command.

select a next sectionplane

rightclick and select "Generate section" and then "2D/3D block"

In the new window select "create"

then wait a little time to finish the command.

etc. etc. for 16 times.

It should be easier if there was an option to tell autocad to (re)generate all sectionplanes at once.

Then i could go for a cup of coffee.

Hi marko.stout,

This certainly does sound tedious. Since I am unaware of a built-in feature that would do this for you, I would like to suggest that you perhaps create a Macro with the Action Recorder. While the generation time would remain the same, it would at least automate some of the process for you.
