Hello!
I am using Fusion 360 to create 3D, and then I create drawings from those solids. From Fusion I outputted the drawings to dwg. When I open the dwg in Autocad 2015, the model space is empty, and the views and notes are only in the paper space. I need to have them in the model space too, so I have tried with the command EXPORTLAYOUT, but it doesn't recognize it. I am sure this is a very simple operation, but I am quite new in Autocad, and I am a bit lost. Any help?! Thank you very much, and sorry for this silly issue.

Not sure abut Fusion, but when this happens from an Inventor to AutoCAD format you can do several things:
1) try using the ChangeSpace command in AutoCAD to send the paper space item to model space
2) Try the "Insert" block command - each view is a block symbol that can then be placed and exploded.
May not be the same with Fusion, though...
Hope that helps, Kenny.

I am seeing the same thing that you are in 2015, also in 2016 & 2017. A Select/All shows 17 entities in Model Space, even though it appears empty.

Hi kennyj!
Thank you for the suggestions! It doesn't recognize ChangeSpace command... And I am trying creating a block and inserting it, but the problem is that, when I create the block, it doesn't select the edges of the views, I mean, the silhouettes of the objects. It only selects the notes, dimensions, the hatching and the titleblock... Do you know if there is something that I have to do to allow selecting the edges of the views?

I may not be understanding what you are trying to do here, so let's recap a little.

So when you type in EXPORTLAYOUT in the command line, nothing happens? It works fine in AutoCAD 2015 (w/SP2) here.

I have attached the .DWG file I created from that command.

Are you just trying to get the layout elements into MS, or is the issue that the 3D elements are not in the .DWG file, or is it both?

I just used the file you posted in the third post.

If AutoCAD is not letting you use that command, it may be due to some profile corruption.

Please try resetting AutoCAD to defaults:

How to reset AutoCAD to defaults

Make sure you back up any customizations before you reset.

Let me know if the command is working after the reset.

OK, here is your new workflow!

After you have your project open, drop whatever piece(s) you want into a Design, then choose Export, and under Type, click the dropdown and choose SAT Files (*.sat) and Save it.

Then, from AutoCAD, choose File>Import>SAT file, then choose the file and the piece will be in Model Space in an AutoCAD drawing.

You should be able to create Layouts and Views of the model at that point.

I hope that helps!
