&lt;P&gt;1) Please we are speaking about which version of AutoCAD : 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 ?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2) Which Service Pack ?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;3) 32 bits OR 64 bits ?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;4) Your PC has Ram - How much : 4 / 6 / 8 / 12 / 16 / xx Gb Ram ?? &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;5) Have you tried with Graphic Hardware Acceleration = OFF ??&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I'm sorry to hear you're encountering this freeze while trying to use the hatch patterns in AutoCAD. Do you have any custom hatch patterns installed, or are they all out-of-the-box?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can try the &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-freezes-when-hatch-pattern-selected.html" target="_self"&gt;solution in this knowledge article&lt;/A&gt;, which has resolved this kind of freeze for other users.&lt;/P&gt;
