I just tried this and it worked! To be more specific, to solve my off-centering issue, when in batchplot, first step was to publish to the 'publisher named in page setup' and then to create a standard 'page setup' and select that for all of my sheets. Thank-you so much, this was driving me completely insane.

Hi All,

I'm having an issue with Batchplotting.

I am using adobe pdf since the other presets (dwg to pdf, etc..) explode my wipeouts and the hatches bleed all over the place when batchplotting. So adobe pdf customized printing solved my initial problem of graphics printing correctly. See snaps of my settings below.

The problem I'm running into now is that the "publish" tab inside the batchplot dialog disappears when I choose publish to "plotter named in page setup" . Once I run the prints they start popping up individually requesting a name. This adds multiple steps for naming pdfs and then having to combine pdfs.

Snaps:

Help appreciated!

Thanks,

Ronald

Hi Ronald,

Welcome to the Forums!

It appears you are on AutoCAD 2015. Have you checked the publishcollate value? If you don't want individual pdfs you need to set this to 1.

Something else to try is to override all the drawing page setups and assign one in the publish window. I am curious to see if this behaves differently.

I am also surprised that you are having issues with hatches and wipeouts in the AutoCAD PDF drivers. I don't see any issues with them.

We might try, as a test, to see if using one of the AutoCAD PDF PC3 files changes the behaviour of your batch publish job.

Please hit the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. I am actually on Autocad 2016. Checked the publishecollate and it is set to 1. Still does not print multiple pdfs together into 1 file. I wonder if I have to change the settings inside Adobe instead of Autocad or does it not work like that?

How do you override all page setups and assign one in the publish window? and how do you test if changing the AutoCAD PDF PC3 files changes the behaviour of your batch publish job?

See the graphic issues between plotting from the adobe to pdf and using an alternative one like dwg to pdf.

Hi ronaldvalverde,

I think as a side issue we can probably fix your plotting of hatches and wipeouts with AtuoCAD PC3 files but let's fix the multiple sheet issue first.

I have attached a Screencast showing how you select the sheets in your Publish window and apply a new Page Setup temporarily for the Publish set.

There is also a Publish Options button on the screen that let's you verify location, prompt for name, and multi-sheet settings. This is selectable when you have PDF selected in the Publish to: field.

I created a new Page Setup that utilized the AutoCAD PDF (General Documenation) driver. You might try that one to see how your wipeouts and hatches look.

Thank you John Vellek, I didn't understand the importance of a page layout until now.

When I plot I never choose page setup

because i never created one, because it wasn't important. I was wrong oh so wrong so it's always at none In the past I would batch print multiple tabs at none and that would always mess with me because if I change an individual layout and don't remember to change the rest then each tab has a possibility of not being the same in a batch print. I would experience a slower batch time and frequent print errors. Then I decided to print my tabs individual then combine in adobe pdf.

Sidebar - After print I would have to rotate the prints because adobe pdf only printed landscape. hahaha. I found the solution to that problem with your help.

Now that I have a default page setup each layout is the same and when i print I use batch with my specific printer/plotter giving me extra time.

Thank you.
