topic Attysnc Block Attribute in AutoCAD Forum

Hi, I got a drawing with lots of plot numbers in it (e.g. 350/1) which are made out of blocks. Now i want all of this blocks to get scaled with 5 for better visibility in my layout.

Usually i just scale one block in the block editor then synchronize all of them with the ATTSYNC command. But in this case the text height (which i want to change) isn't connected to the text in the block editor, it is connected to the attribute, so when i double click the block i get into the Enhanced Attribute Editor where i can change the settings for every single block but i can't syncronize all the other blocks to it afterwards.

Thanks!

Hi,

can you upload a drawing with just a few of that block-insertions?

>> But in this case the text height (which i want to change) isn't connected to the text in the block editor,

That might have the source in a textstyle, which has a fixed height, or a textstyle, which is set to be annotative (or the attribute definition itself is set to be annotative).

Hi,

well, you are working with a drawing based on the Austrian definition of cadastre (DKM basierend auf der Definiton von Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen).

This definition was created in the 1980's (were small files where needed because of transportation on floppy disks) and one of the strategies was to change the attribute-name (in the attribut for parcel-number of the inserted block GN1) to KG-Nummer, so within a single attribute you have the option to transfer two informations.

Nowadays noone would do that, but it was necessary to make drawings as small as possible (and there was another reason, not necessary to discuss here).

What does that mean for you and now: either you have an application on top of AutoCAD that can work with that type of blocks (we have one, called HMap). th other option is, as long as the block-insertions of type GN are all within the same KG you can export the file as DXF, open the DXF with an ascii editor, search & replace "55235" to "3" (with is the original name of the attribute) and load the DXF again into AutoCAD. Then you have the normal handling.

Just to scale this type of block you can also select the block-insertions and change the scale-factor in the property window.

LG
