Hello!

I need help with a file I just started. I have this problem with tons of overlapping lines. I tried using OVERKILL and it worked to some extent. It did not solve my problem completely. I tried separating the file as much as I could, but this overlapping is just bugging me and I want to remove. Unfortunately I am unable, so if you can give me any solution I will be most grateful.

I am uploading the file down and once again, thank you in advance.

Sincerely yours, Strahil

Thanks for sharing your DWG file @strahil.stefanovv Where are the overlapping lines in it? I'm not finding them easily

but FLATTEN is stating it did this

Command: OVERKILL

Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 14321 found

Select objects:
159 duplicate(s) deleted
511 overlapping object(s) or segment(s) deleted

Plain AutoCAD (the topic of this forum) reported 20-errors in it when I used RECOVER command on it, but it also shows that your DGN converted file was sourced from AutoCADMAP3D (or Civil3D): which software are you using please?

I am using AutoCAD 2024- English, the student version.

Yes, it is hard to find the overlapping line, but also every time I look at some line, and I find that under it, there is/are more line/lines. I can separate the layers to how I want to use them and send it to you. Either way. In every way, there is overlapping in many places.

I also tried using FLATTEN, but it was of no help.

What I have done to the dwg file: I purged a lot of layer. And then I separated the map in 4 groups. If you zoom out, you will see the groups. In green circles I marked places where there is lines which are overlapping each other. I tried the command OVERKILL again, but it did not work. I tried FLATTEN, but also without effect.

Currently I cannot upload you the original file ( the way I received it). Later, I will try to upload it.

Thank you for your time and have a good day!

Fix your file first

remove the MAP/C3D content

Purge your drawing

I used these OVERKILL settings

It found nothing (like you I suspect) because these are not overlapping, just adjacent

Which tells me this setting in OVERKILL needs to be much larger, but then again, too large a number might catch items you want to keep

You basically have a badly drafted/created conversion from Microstation and you'll most likely need to manually fix it in the end.

Start soon.
