MText is offset from insert point.

I am using AutoCAD 2024. The MTEXT problem I have is that when I click a point and insert a MTEXT, it first appears at the correct location. That is, at the center of the cross (0,0,0) as shown in the first picture below. However, when I am done with the command, the text is offset. Please see the second picture. Please help. Thanks. I have not seen that, but for decades have seen the opposite in plain Text with some AutoCAD .shx fonts. For example, ROMANS.shx in left justification "starts" a little to the right of the insertion point. It has always been that way -- why characters are defined off their start point has always been a mystery to me. SIMPLEX.shx does not do the same, and otherwise I think is identical to ROMANS. But for me, in Mtext, ROMANS.shx behaves as one would expect.

I doubt it will solve your problem, but I'm curious: does using SIMPLEX.shx in the Text Style in place of ROMANS make any difference? For me, it does not in Mtext the way it does in Text.

I can't replicate your issue.

Have you installed, reinstalled, or uninstalled Microsoft Office or other VBA enabled applications after installing AutoCAD?

Also, make sure your UCS and PLAN are set to World:

Thanks Emilio. Yes, I have VBA's in my Startup Suite. Once I removed them all, MTEXT was working as expected. I will follow your FAQ instructions for the solutions. Once again, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. (Never thought of the VBA's are the culprit.)
