I'm sorry if this has been answered before and if it has please provide a link since I was unable to find an answer.

I work for a company that works for many different companies and each, of course, have there own set of standards and menus and Lisps. I have one in particular that changes all the drawings you order to there standards so that causes a real issue when I work with other company's drawings. If I'm reading things correctly, creating a profile only changes what menues are shown that are already loaded. What I need to do is change what menus, lisps and scripts are loaded when I open drawings. I suppose I could import/export settings with the provided app, but I was hoping for an easier option. Preferably one that would be like a toggle within AutoCAD it self.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not aware of anything out of the box, but I have toyed with something that would allow you to do something like this. I created a lsp and stuck it in the startup. It references a file which i could change to select different destination folders which contained different scripts.

I could see that as a reasonable method. or you could just add a "load" button in the different profiles to load the files for each of your clients. Either way i think it could be done but is going to require some time and know how.

I'm fairly certain that profiles will do what you want. Have you actually tried it? It shouldn't be too hard to set-up a couple test profiles.

Right. Profiles control search paths, which control which files are found. That includes the CUIx files which, along with the workspaces contained in them, determine which user interface (UI) elements are shown. It also controls which LISP, blocks, and so on are found through different search paths in each profile.

Just make sure you launch AutoCAD from a shortcut which specifies the proper profile, and get out of the habit (if you already have it) of double-clicking DWG files to open them.

Thank everyone for your responses, creating different profiles did the trick. I was afraid of doing it since the one set of tools hijacks AutoCAD.
basically
As for double clicking on files to open them, it's actually not too bad. It will open the files in the profile that you were in your last session. So as long as you are aware o that it GTG.

Wisp
The workspace solution didn't work the way I wanted it to, but thank you for the suggestion.

Switching profiles can work, but you can end up with problems properly loading a workspace. Plus with loading other tools they frequently include things which only "fire" once on start-up, like setting search paths or loading ARX/DBX support files.
