I am glad you are updating your post. Can you tell me which graphics card you have in your Mac? I have seen in my own experience that the warning doesn't necessarily mean things won't work. Have you also installed all the available drivers from Apple for the configuration?

It has been a while since i have done this type of install but if I recall correctly I had to go find additional drivers to get everything happy.

[Edit]

I just got Win10 installed and both AutoCAD 2016 and 2017 (with all hotfixes and service packs installed). I do not seem to have the graphics card issue you are seeing. Make sure that from the Start Button>Apple> you check for updates as mine had three available which included a Graphics card driver.

So far performance seems fine and I have no issues in AutoCAD. I will update the post as I continue to work on this configuration.

HI @Anonymous,

I have AutoCAD 2017 running in Windows 7 on Bootcamp without any issues so far.

I know that Win 10 also runs on the Macbook but I have not tried that yet. If you are going to run 2015 make sure you get all the service packs applied. Windows 10 and AutoCAD 2017 also has some issues with legacy wide format printers.

Pre-Installed: Boot Camp is already installed on your Mac (post-2006), so you already have what you need to run Windows

System Performance: When running Windows with Boot Camp, you're taking full advantage of your hardware (RAM, graphics card, etc).

Mac File Access: Although you cannot run Mac applications in Windows, Boot Camp does provide read-only access to files stored on your Mac OS X partition.

It better not work, especially if you have a brand new Mac Book Pro. Apple stopped support with Windows 7 bootcamp awhile ago, like two or three years ago. I think it happened around the time that new OSX came out.

I believe it might still be possible to install Windows 8.1 on Bootcamp but the push, of course, is to Windows 10. As I can't duplicate that configuration I cannot offer any advice to the OP one way or another for running it that way.

I will say that I personally would avoid other products that allow Windows virtualization as this limits the resources available to AutoCAD.

Hell John, well apparently my new Macbook Pro no longer supports Windows 7 on bootcamp. My Macbook Pro has certain hardware that will not be compatible via drivers in windows 7. So it only allows me to install windows 10. With that being said I would to speak to someone or get help from someone who is currentlty running Autocad 2016 in Windows 10 on their MacBook Pro.

I would like to know of any issues if any and how does the computer perform ?

Thanks

I don't know anyone internally that is running Windows 10 on a MacBook Pro. I suggest that the better place to look for that might be on Apple's site.

As far as AutoCAD 2017 running in Windows 10, it is a supported product and for the most part seems to be running fine for the customers I have been in touch with. Here is an article that details Autodesk products in relation to Windows 10.

The only concerns I would have is if you have enough resources such as disk space and RAM for the OS and AutoCAD, Windows 10 printer drivers for any wide-format devices you use, and finally how well the Graphics card works in AutoCAD. The Radeon card is not on the certified list and I have no experience or customer experience that I can share regrading the graphics card.

That is the one concern that i have because i want Autocad to run efficiently. I am currently installing windows 10 in bootcamp. Then i will install Autocad and see if it works

My MacBook Pro 15

The MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.8 15-Inch (Dual Graphics/Force Touch - Mid-2015 Retina Display) features a 22 nm "Haswell/Crystalwell" 2.8 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (4980HQ), with four independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 6 MB shared level 3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (which cannot be upgraded later), 512 GB of PCIe-based flash storage, and dual graphics processors -- an AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory and an integrated Intel Iris 5200 Pro graphics processor with 128 MB of "Crystalwell" embedded DRAM (and shared system memory). It also has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam and a high-resolution LED-backlit 15.4" widescreen 2880x1800 (220 ppi) "Retina" display in a case that weighs just less than 4.5 pounds (2.04 kg). It does not have an internal optical drive.

My laptop currently has all the drivers updated, one thing i do notice is that the fonts in certain boxes are still small

AutoCAD for Windows is NOT designed to run on high res displays: stock HD format (1080) is the max. Is that your issue?

Other than your class, AutoCAD for MAC files and fully interchangeable with Windows users and it looks great on high res monitors too.

Hi @Anonymous, My MacBook has the same Graphics configuration. The error you see, is that just in AutoCAD? If you check your graphics Performance in AutoCAD, which Video Card is it showing? Is it the Intel or the AMD?

@pendean is correct about the Hi-res display issue. You might want to change your display settings per this article.

Noticed the same issue. Icons are way too small on MacBook Pro (Hi-Res) Retina Display. If you change your display settings, then the Mac Icons get to big. You'll have to size down your (quick access) icons too, and I recommend setting up desktop states as available with the new OSX update.
