I am trying to find the annotation tab / document palette, where supposedly the grid bubble block and a bunch of other blocks live?

Change your Workspace and you'll see the Annotate tab.

change workspace to what setting? I still don't see it.

Mine is set to Drafting & Annotation.

i want to insert a grid bubble block, that's all. Your screen shot / workspace settings read 3D modeling I believe? I can do that and see the annotate tab and all, but I see nothing for inserting a **** grid bubble. This shouldn't be so deceptive.

You'll want to go to the View tab of the ribbon and turn on Tool Palettes. On your Tool Palettes, there is a tab called Annotation. On that tab there are blocks, one of which could be used as a grid bubble.

yes I have seen this thank you, seems though why isn't there a a specific block for a grid bubble ya know? architecture and all...

how come when block is inserted it's super small, shouldn't it come in scaled appropriately for whatever I have my dimscale set to ? or am i daydreaming ....

I'm not sure what is a "grid bubble block", but if >>>that<<< is what you are looking for then you should know that this is part of AutoCAD Architecture, not plain (Vanilla) AutoCAD.

What type and version of AutoCAD are you using?

That's the answer why you don't find it in your menu's, it's different to AutoCAD Architecture 2016

You'll have to create your own one and use it in your projects.

But he wasn't looking for the Annotate tab. He was looking for a tab called Annotation. There's such a tab on Tool Palettes with something that can be used as a grid bubble. Thought that was more helpful than directing him to change Workspaces.

No: that nothing like the full features grid bubble needed for architectural plans in AutoCAD ARCHITECTURE. The OP is using the wrong software for the convenience ARCH presents.

I doubt the OP did not know they could do it the hard way with a call out bubble.

I was answering the question that he asked using the software that he specified. I figured that having an option with the software that he said that he is using was better than being told to go get different software. I never said it had anything to do with ACA, or that it was better. He was looking for a tab called Annotation on a palette "where supposedly the grid bubble block and a bunch of other blocks live" in AutoCAD. On that tab of Tool Palettes in ACAD, there is a block that could be used as a grid bubble. That's it.
