Can someone identify this cursor badge? It appears in just one of my files, in both modelspace and paperspace and in an active modelspace viewport. I don't what I did to turn this on? I'm working in AutoCAD 2015.

wisp, I saw the same article, but this had nothing to do with constraints. None exist in the file.

tschau3, cycling was on so ctrl-w turned it off. At least now I know what it is.

According to the Autodesk article as listed, that Ctrl+W icon isn't the same. Your post was asking about that icon and how to turn it off. What AutoCAD version are you using?

AutoCAD 2013 or 2017. Windows 7 (64-bit)

How are some people having different cursor badges than me?

The images shows the cursor badge I get when turning on CTRL + W. Which looks nothing like the one of the head post.

I tried to recreate the problem, but now I don't see the badge next to the cursor at all, even if I do ctrl-w. I recovered a file from yesterday and still I don't see the cursor and badge issue when the file opens up. I did add a constraint part to the file and I see the cursor and badge when I hover over it. I can't recreate the problem. I'm using AutoCAD 2015, Win7, 64 bit.

With selection cycling on, the badge indicates that there is more than one object available for selection at the cursor location. If selection cycling is off or only one object available at the cursor location then no badge.

BTW, this is a handy feature, not a problem.

I withdrew the solution as there must have been other reasons the badge disappeared. Unfortunately, I don't know why the cursor did this after issuing the ctrl-w. I can't recreate the problem, but the issue is resolved at the moment. It is strange that I had this badge problem modelspace and paperspace.

If you really want to track down the "problem", I would look into constraints and see if you can recreate it. If you don't use constraints, just look into how to turn them off, if they get turned on accidently again.

as previously mentioned that looks a lot like the constraints badge. If you just dont want to see the badges you can turn those off with the CURSORBADGE command. If you want to get rid of all constraints you can use the DELCONSTRAINT command.

Is the badge showing all the time or only when you are highlighting/selecting something?

If it showed continually there might be something with your display set up. If the problem does not persist though I'm not sure i would worry about it much past this. If it shows up again i might look into updating or rolling back your display drivers and or changing some graphics configuration in CAD.
