Are you exploding dimensions? If not, why do you need this? The adjustment of dimension line length to arrow is a built-in feature that eliminates stray graphics that might appear in some arrowhead designs. I don't believe what you want is possible.

I am constantly extending the dimension line meet the extension line or making the dimension line meet the insertion point of the user defined arrow. I see when there are no arrows selected in the dimension style the dimension line goes right to the extension line, but I need arrows as well. I have attached an image. I am looking for an override of some kind to make the line to extend all the way through even with an arrow being used, like the left side of the image.

*I moved the arrows so you can see what I am talking about*

type dimstyle into the command line. In the dialogbox that appears the first two tabs are responsible for this appearance.

Click on your dimension style and modify what you need.

Yes I have been trying to modify the dimstyle, but I still get the same thing. If I add a block for the arrow, the dimension line cuts off at the block and not all the way through to the extension line. I am wondering what setting I use to get the dimension line to actually be the length of the dimension shown and not shorter because of the arrowhead blocks.

Yes we are exploding the dimensions. Using the dimensions is for quick use only really. We explode them because there are some of the pm's that will go into the drawings and not have a clue what is going on with a non-exploded dimension (or move them by accident). Got to keep it simple since a lot of my coworkers dabble with acad drawings, but don't understand what is going on. Extending the dimension line is fine, but there are occasions where we forget and then it isn't consistent. We do all this to end up with the image below. Thought I would give it a shot since I am trying to increase productivity.

If productivity is the goal, I would think an insignificantly small amount of training to give those people a clue would be far more effective overall than Exploding Dimensions.

Thankfully, I've never worked with anyone who consciously exploded dimensions except perhaps for very unique situations. I hope I never will. Good luck but you would have to get someone to customize the explode command.

When a someone has been doing the same thing for 40 years...pretty hard to change ways. Even customizing an explode command wouldn't fly around here. But thanks for the suggestions.
