Hi @Anonymous

ake a look at your page setup or plot Window.

I am guessing that you have not set your paper size or scale.

John,

Thank you for your swift reply. Unfortunately, I have been to Plot Settings, Publish Settings and Page Setup Manager. I have isolated the problem to something with AutoCAD 2016 or the profile that I am using with AutoCAD 2016. I wish it was as simple as changing the plot window or scale but I have compared it with drawings that plot perfectly time and time again.

I did notice under the Publish dialog box that it says the plot scale is "Custom" instead of "1:1" but it is set to "1:1" under the plot settings and page setup... This problem only occurs when Publishing drawings, which can be problematic when working on larger projects.

Kevin

Can you please attach a sample drawing for me?

Also, can you send me the associated pc3 and pmp files? I have seen this before when they get migrated rather than built from scratch but it could also be something wrong with the layout.

Hi,

the paperformat and the scale you have set in the plot dialog don't fit together (either paperformat too small or scale to large).

Hi,

the plot dialog shows you that your content does not fit onto the selected paperformat 30"x42".

The scaling shows that you are trying to print with a scale 1:1, so the part you try to print (at least the window you selected to print) is larger than the 30"x42" ... you need to select another scale then.

If you are plotting from a layout it is ok to have 1:1 selected within the plot-dialog, but then the layout should be defined with the same paperformat as you like to print.

Printing from modelspace does not make sense in case of publishing as the definition of the plot-area as defined "Window" would not work well.

If you can show your dwg it might be easier to know where exactly you are.

if the paper size correct try to check your scale and Inch or mm.and when you do that and specify the area by window i think it's will be fine.

Maybe I'm not understanding how this works, but It plots perfectly when using PLOT but doesn't when using PUBLISH to PDF. Why would anything change? Doesn't it take the settings from the Page Setup Manager/PLOT dialog?

Hi,

>> It plots perfectly when using PLOT but doesn't when using PUBLISH to PDF.

>> Why would anything change?

When you start the _PLOT command for one layout that does not mean that _PUBLISH uses that one setting for all (also other) layouts.

When you start the _PLOT command for one layout you have the choice to press "Apply to layout" if the settings should be stored (for that single layout).

If you want to have one pagesetup to be used for all layouts then start command _PAGESETUP, then create one named setup ... and when that is finished (and tested) you can start command _PUBLISH and assign that pagesetup to your sheets:

HI ryankevin1201,

Looks like there are some good answers here.

To summarize, make sure that your page setup is configured properly. I use a unique pages setup for each paper size as well as for each printer (or PDF driver.)

For instance I have one called B-Size Landscape PDF for printing to an 11"x17" PDF in Landscape orientation.

When I use Publish, I apply the correct and unique page setup to all the drawings in the list (you can Ctrl-A to select them all.)

Please update your results and please also mark as Accepted Solution the post or posts that helped you to resolve your problem. Of course, you are welcome to attach a sample drawing, page setup, PC3 and PMP file so I can evaluate them for you.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Here is another example of a drawing that this happens in. I stripped the drawing of sensitive information, but try the PUBLISH Command on it. I am using AutoCAD2016.

I have plenty of other drawings that plot perfectly with no issues. It is this drawing specifically. It has to be a setting somewhere in the drawing itself... So it is not our .pc3 file... Any ideas?

Also,

I never have to change page setups in the PUBLISH dialog. It is set to DWG to PDF so therefore that is the override it uses... thank you for helping

Hi @Anonymous,

I opened your drawing and created a new pagesetup (named Test) and applied it to both layouts.

I then ran ExporttoAutoCAD since there were proxy objects in the drawing.

Next I brought up Publish and ran the print job. I have attached my resulting PDF.

You will see that I used the AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation) Driver.

Please let me know if this behaves for you .

This problem leaves me dumbfounded because we shouldn't have to change page setups. If two drawings have the exact same settings from one to another, this shouldn't be happening. It has to be a glitch.
