You might need to Scale >> Explode >> Stretch to get the Titleblock to fit:

Hi All,

So normally for assignments we submit a title block in Model Space and scale to match drawings and the submit howeve for this exercise the title block must be in paper space since we're learning about 3D layouts and drawing and isometric and then using the base command.

However when inserting my title block and scaling it to the paperspace it is either too wide or too long that even the scale/reference commands can't seem to fix. I've attached a screenshot.

How can I fix this problem?

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

By default a titleblock is not scaled, only the border could be used as scaleable block (also not very common as the markers for folding are not really useful when scaled from A4 to A0 or so).

The most common is to have either a border block for each papersize or to use dynamic block to get that working.

>> inserting my title block and scaling it to the paperspace it is either too wide or too long

Upload a drawing so we can see how your block was created (unscaled size), how your paperspace and how your pagesetup are defined.

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

I think that you have to check the scale factor (see attached) when inserting title block.

Dave,

Sorry but how can someone of your obvious experience tell someone else to explode a block so readily like that? That's terrible advice. Explode is an awful tool in the wrong hands.

The OP should EDIT the block, unless you want to explain how his attributes all turned into scrap.

If the block is good in Mspace, then it will be good in Pspace with the right scale. The scale of the block in Pspace is ideally 1:1 ie X-1, Y=1, Z=1.

"Sorry but how can someone of your obvious experience tell someone else to explode a block so readily like that? That's terrible advice. Explode is an awful tool in the wrong hands."

1. My example had no attributes.
2. Without attributes, exploding is the fastest way to size the TB.
3. Scaling alone doesn't work; it constrains to original proportions.
4. Until the Title Block is in the Layout, how would you know what to edit?
5. If you use Burst, you might miss out on a learning moment.

If we're talking about best workflow, then @Alfred.NESWADBA says it all:
"The most common is to have either a border block for each papersize or to use dynamic block to get that working."
