I am attempting this and seem to be having similar issues. 14+ and the PCG option to import is gone. Is their another route to be able to import the LAS file?

Plain AutoCAD or a vertical version? To attach a point cloud file as an external reference, begin by clicking the Insert tab of the ribbon, Point Cloud panel and then select Attach. In the Select Point Cloud File dialog box, find and select an ISD, PCG, RCS, or RCP file to attach to the drawing and click Open.

You'll have to use Recap to convert the older pcg format to the newer supported rcp or rcf formats:

http://www.computeraideddesignguide.com/importing-point-cloud-data-autocad-tutorial/

Area Object Link | Attribute Modifier | Dwg Setup | Feet-Inch Calculator
Layer Apps | List on Steroids | VP Zoom Scales | Exchange App Store

This is not SOLVED. How can one attach PCG in an AutoCAD 2015+ product. This is not supported. If the PCG is already attached, it will recognize, but the UI will only allow the user to attach a RCP/RCS (Autodesk ReCap) point cloud.

Please enlighten me if there is some magic HACK to make the selection of a PCG file from the file system.
