custom gradient hatch

Hello, I am looking for "custom" gradient hatch to modified the way how it look. It only provided 9 different patterns such as linear sweep, spherical, and parabolic. I need to edit for one color tone around the outer edge and control the tone width for a large project. Is there a way that I can customize or it is what they have to provide? Thanks!

If you really want one color tone, that doesn't sound like a gradient, but it's not difficult [if I understand correctly]: you could draw a Polyline around the outer edge, Offset it inward by half the width you want, and give the inner one that width.

If that isn't what you mean, can you post an image of some kind?

Thank you for reply. Please See attached. What I would like to have tone along around the edging of buildings, tennis, etc. instead of what they (9 patterns provided) such as sphere, etc. Looks like there is no click "custom" gradient hatch?

I don't know of a way to do that directly, but can you subdivide areas and put gradients in them that grade in different directions? Either all the way into the middle [left], or partially around the edges with Solid Hatching in the middle to match the inboard gradient color [right]:

[No, I don't like the apparent lack of "gradualness" of these gradients -- they look mostly about the same color with all the shading happening in the last portion near the light edge, but maybe that varies with what colors are used, or with AutoCAD version, or with graphics hardware or image software.]

Another possible approach -- Offset Polylines in incremented colors, with width:

You can be more subtle about the color incrementing if you like, and/or use more closely-spaced Offsets and narrower Polyline widths, etc., to get a look a little more like gradation.

I'd like to see that capability as well in the civil world especially for water bodies and paving. Unfortunately, Kent's ideas are the best around. there's no built in functionality to really get the 'artisitic' look, and with Impression a dead horse, there seems to be nothing coming from Autodesk that's close.

Perhaps the best approach quality wise would be to export to a real vector graphics package for the final presentation work; possibly Inkscape, Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator for example.

Good morning! Thank you all for your help. offset and blend the color is not a bad idea. i think i'll stick with these gradient patterns for now. They said they are fine with that for now. I looked up the website and find www.landfx.com that provide tools for hatching, texture, and planting styles for presentation. unfortunately, its a purchase package. Thanks again.
