Hi! i was wondering if someone can help ...need to make a 2d from the top view of this 3d model (mainly 3d polylines). Had tried flatshot, flat lisp, solprof, in CAD2015 but nothing...as a block , and in the blockeditor.

Hi @Anonymous,

I used AutoCAD 2017 to play with this problem. If I exploded everything and then ran flatten, it seemed to work but it was still in a strange UCS orientation.

I got lazy and plotted to a high quality PDF and then simply imported it into AutoCAD 2017.

Let me know if this looks ok and if it still retains any accuracy.

[EDIT] I went back into the original drawing using AutoCAD 2015. I exploded the block and then explode everything in the drawing. Now the flatten seems to work well and does not rotate any of the objects relative to the UCS.

Hi @Anonymous,

I apologize! I must have grabbed the wrong file for you. I have deleted it from my post.

At any rate, my 2015 has flatten. You can find it in the Express Tools in the modify tab. Or, you can find it by simply typing FLATTEN at the command line.

Hi again! John u helped me with flatten a 3D , maybe u can help me to do the same thing to this dwg. The one u helped me was the roads , but now i'm needing to flat the whole terrain, roads, contours, etc.. ( dont know if the labels of the contours that are under the 3d are a problem, in means they'll mix with the 2D lines, if its the case, u can errase them, no problem, then i can check). Sorry if its inconvinient for u. But i and my graduation project will appreciated
