Guys,

I have what seems like an everyday question for you, I don't doubt, but not being all that familiar with it myself, I thought I'd save time and ask the gurus rather than try to read the big book of AutoCAD, and just end up frustrated and still have no answer. So with that...

My drawing border is a block/template such that it can be inserted and all the text created as editable attributes. However, this ONE TIME ONLY there's a key in the border that I need to erase. How do I explode the block (border), erase the key, and then create the block again? This is a reasonably common enough request for one thing or another to be removed and reblocked, and I'm ashamed to admit my ignorance of the best and/or quickest way to do this makes me take the long way around. Please help.

Thanks guys,

Mark

use BEDIT command to remove items (or add them) from blocks: no need to explode.
If that looks too complicated, try the older command REFEDIT to do the same.

Hi Mark!

Select the block, type BE which opens the block editor. Modify what you need to do and then close the editor. If there are attributes involved, you can then use BATTMAN to sync the attribute changes.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

...and one more suggestion:

If the block editor does not open, command BLOCKEDITLOCK and set to 0.

Command BEDIT and command COPYCLIP the desired objects (or all of them).
Close the block editor (command BCLOSE) without saving.
Command PASTEBLOCK...

You now have a copy of the original block and the changes to this block
(using BEDIT) will not reflect on the original block.

???
