Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

>> I need to edit a regions without having to explode it back to lines,

Sorry, not possible.

>> Exploding it back to a closed polyline would be okay

(In most cases) You can use command _BPOLY to generate a closed polyline from the region (or more polylines if the region has islands).

HTH, - alfred -

AutoCAD's direct Region editing via Selection-Filter-Edge has continually gotten more competent over the releases. Moving edges, both internal and external, has been possible for a while. 2017 now looks to be able to Scale and Rotate features as well.

Hi,

>> Moving edges, both internal and external, has been possible for a while. 2017

>> now looks to be able to Scale and Rotate features as well.

Look into that drawing, on the left side the original objects, from that I created a region using _BPOLY and moved it to the right.

Now try to modify any segment of that region 😉

On my system (AutoCAD 2017 SP1) when you select an edge the complete figure/region moves to the right.

Combined with the limited handling (no grips, not all commands like stretch) I would say for me that's not editing like CAD should work. But mentioning that edges can be selected and modified was very good (as I forgot that option to write in my post).

AutoCAD's ability to manipulate spline geometry has gotten better over the years as well. But, if there's anything that will throw a curve to an AutoCAD operation, it will probably be spline based.
