Rotating Model Space

Does anybody know what happen to the graphic that allowed you rotate the whole model space screen through 90° angles. Not the steering wheel, I seem to remember it has like a compass look to it, you could scroll around or go in 90° increments.

Perhaps you are looking for some of the tools found in the View>Viewport Tools ribbon. Or those found in the Navigation Bar?

It looks like the picture but in 2D mode, you just click on arrow in top corner and around your model space goes through 90°

Hi @Anonymous,

In AutoCAD LT you will not see the NavCube as it is designed to handle UCS changes in 3D. Check out the Navigation bar though to see if it helps.

Increments of 90 degrees would be done using the two arc-shaped arrows at the top-right of the viewcube and outside of the compass. Those only become visible when you hover over that area.
The good-ole orbit ball was handy for adjusting your view of model space as well. The orbit ball can be activated by using the Free Orbit command. I always thought the term Free Orbit should have been something else because the orbit ball allows the user to control his/her orbit very predictably.

Anyone remember the old Viewpoint and Viewpoint Presets commands? Way back when I mastered them I thought it couldn't get any better but evolution brought so many other great tools!

I have begun working on Autocad 2021. How do i turn the model space around in 90 degree increments?

I used to be able to do this easily on the 2017 version?

Model-space can't be rotated, you can rotate the view (how you look to the model) using e.g. the viewcube or you can rotate the geometry using command _3DROTATE or _ROTATE3D

Same exact way from R2017 is used in R2021: so how id you do it back then?
Hint: DVIEW>Twist option or UCS rotating with PLAN set to Current UCS, or... see other suggestions.

I have Autocad LT. So no 3d.
I have elevations drawn up around a central room. I have to keep on turning
the wheel so i can see each elevation the correct way.
There used to be a cube where i can rotate the view. It has disappeared on
Autocad 2021.
I need help!

AFAIK AutoCAD LT does not have the viewcube if that is what you are looking for.

I am sincerely confused.
My friend has the cube on the right hand corner of her screen and she has
the same version that i have. Autocad LT 2021.
All i want to do is rotate the screen in model space so I can access the
elevations.
I am sure it is just a click of a button

Lets first get you un-confused...

Your last few posts have changed from AutoCAD 2021 to AutoCAD LT 2021, on multiple posts. That is going to force us to respond in ways that will surely confuse things because as you have also indicated, AutoCAD LT is not truly built for 3D work.

That said, you may manipulate views and your viewpoint.

In this video you will learn some new techniques but you'll also notice the handy toolbar that is vertically placed on the upper-right of your drawing area. You should find some screen manipulation tools there.

Can your friend please start command _ABOUT, create a screenshot of this command and you show this screenshot here?

I’m sorry to confuse you again. But I am working with autocad LT 2021. Just
looking to rotate screen in 90 degrees. Not to get a 3D view
